Privacy Policy – SnapMail

Effective date: August 2, 2025

SnapMail ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your data when you use our application or website (https://snapmailapp.fr), and your rights under applicable laws such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and other international frameworks.

1. No Personal Data Collection

SnapMail does not collect any personally identifiable information (PII). You can use our temporary email services without signing up, logging in, or sharing your real identity.

2. Automatically Collected Data

We may automatically collect certain non-identifiable data via third-party services such as Google AdMob (app) and Google AdSense (website):

This data is used solely to provide, personalize, and improve advertising through legitimate third-party ad networks.

3. Advertising and Cookies

SnapMail displays ads via Google AdMob and AdSense. These services may use cookies or similar tracking technologies to deliver relevant ads.

On our website, a consent banner (CMP) is shown to obtain your permission for personalized advertising in compliance with TCF v2.2 standards.

On the mobile app, we use Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) SDK to request your consent for personalized/non-personalized ads.

You can manage your ad preferences here: https://myadcenter.google.com

4. Use of the SnapMail API and Email System

SnapMail provides disposable email addresses and message delivery features through a self-hosted system. The public API used by our app and website is fully managed and operated by us (snapmailapp.fr), and is not dependent on or connected to any external API provider.

While the backend logic is powered by open-source software, including the TMail Delivery system for handling IMAP email flow, all API endpoints, data routing, and frontend integration are maintained under our control and infrastructure.

Email addresses generated via SnapMail are random, temporary, and not associated with any user account. They are public by design: anyone with the address may access the inbox. Messages are deleted automatically after a predefined period.

We strongly discourage the use of SnapMail for receiving sensitive or personal information.

5. Data Storage and Retention

SnapMail does not store any user data permanently. Email addresses and messages are deleted automatically based on server configuration (typically after 15–60 minutes). No user behavior or identity is stored on our servers.

6. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical measures to protect against unauthorized access or misuse. However, SnapMail provides anonymous email services and is not intended for the storage or transmission of private or sensitive information.

7. User Rights (GDPR, CCPA, etc.)

As no personal data is collected or stored by SnapMail directly, exercising rights such as data access, correction, or deletion does not apply. However, you may contact us at any time regarding privacy concerns at:

Email: sio.simonc@gmail.com

8. Browser Extension Privacy

If you use our browser extension, it may access active web pages for the purpose of auto-filling forms with dummy data and temporary email addresses. No browsing history, personal information, or page content is collected or stored by us.

The extension operates entirely on the client side, and all actions (form detection, email generation) occur locally. Only calls to the SnapMail API for generating emails are performed externally.

9. Changes to this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated occasionally to reflect changes in legal obligations, technology, or our services. You will be notified through the app or website when significant changes occur.
